What is RSS?
A brief overview
The advantages of subscribing to our RSS feed are simple - you will receive regular updates about new items as they appear on the UK Gamelan Network website with a direct link to the webpage.
RSS is a new and increasingly popular way to subscribe to news and information from the web. You can do so either through a browser such as Firefox, or a dedicated feed-reader.
Many websites and blogs offer feeds. When you subscribe to an RSS feed the browser or reader automatically collects the feeds showing the latest posting on the website or blog.
There are stand-alone feed-reader software programmes for both PC and Mac. Some are free 'lite versions.

Some of the newer web browsers such as Firefox and Safari also have integrated RSS reading capability.
If you subscribe to a lot of feeds then a feed-reader is probably the best method to use.
Whichever method you chose, you have to 'subscribe' to an RSS feed.
