Gamelan in education

Gamelan in schools

Gamelan has an important role to play in music education at all levels.

It is an invaluable resource to fulfil the requirements of the National Curriculum for contact with music of other cultures and a number of Education Authorities and individual schools use gamelan extensively in their teaching programmes.

Traditionally, the pupils travel to the gamelan although in some cases it is possible to bring instruments to your school.
